A podcast for agents of change—where space is not just imagined, but realized.

My Black Space will feature candid conversations about spatial justice, community empowerment, and the lived experiences of people in urban spaces. We'll delve into how design and policy intersect with race, culture, and equity.

"Spatial justice requires not just changing the physical; it means changing the systems and policies that created and perpetuated spatial injustices."

- Paul Bauknight

PLACE.
POWER.
JUSTICE.

WHAT IS MY BLACK SPACE?

"As a Black, urbanist, designer, educator and activist I see the negative impacts of spatial injustice every day.  Communities of color bear witness to the oppressive effects of space, knowledge and power.  We are constantly fighting against the unjust policies and systems that dictate the physical environments we live, work and play in.  The legacies of redlining, segregation, urban renewal, unfair housing practices and others continue to impact our communities.

Spatial justice requires not just changing the physical; it means changing the systems and policies that created and perpetuated spatial injustices."
